50 OFW Kabuhayan Starter Kit

San Miguel, Surigao de Sur – Recently, 50 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW’s) and their dependents received a “KABUHAYAN STARTER KIT” under the livelihood program of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Caraga, Bututan City, Philippines.

The “Kabuhayan Starter kit” from the DOLE is now available in this municipality were Massage with 7 beneficiaries, Plumbing 7, Electrician 15 and Cosmetology 21 and it costs P4,000.00 pesos each starter kit, all of San Miguel, this province..

The Provincial Officer of DOLE, Tandag, Surigao del Sur Mr. Herminigildo L.Daytoc distributed the Kabuhayan Starterkit assisted by Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager Nancy G. Elizalde, the local government unit of San Miguel spearheaded by Mayor Alfeo G. Perez, Jr. and Sangguinang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Asciencion M. Aya-ay, supported the program for the OFW’s in the said municipality.
The training conducted are the following: Massage and Cosmetology. The massage trainer Mr. Richie M. Enderez, a 2-day basic training and Cosmetology trainer by BF NETWORK Logistics & Supply Co., spearheaded by Mr. Nestor V. Ty Jr., Manager and Ms Amor N. Labana, GFC recipient of OWWA, Caraga, Butuan City. This training focused on lecture and hands on simultaneously in the area.

The trainings on Electrician and Plumbing will be deferred due to no available trainer as of this moment.

The DOLE “KABUHAYAN STARTER KIT” is under the livelihood program and priority projects of the Arroyo Administration for enhancement of unemployed OFW’s . (CDIO-San Miguel, SDS)
